This blockbuster brought about a tremendous amount of attention and tourism to the isles of Greece - be it for weddings, proposals or general sightseeing. Tripsavvy provides a more in-depth look into where the movie was filmed in the islands of Greece, particularly Damouchari, Skopelos, and Skiathos.

2. Lost In Translation

Lost in Translation is a great contemporary movie that plays like a tourism ad for Tokyo! It tells of the budding friendship of two Americans in Tokyo and has a great message of what it means to be lonely—even in a city filled with millions of people.

3. Lord of the Rings Trilogy

If you’re more of a fantasy junkie like myself, you’d probably know all about the next movie we have on the list. Probably no other fantasy movie series was as epic or iconic as the Lord of the Rings movie series, and it also promoted tourism within New Zealand to an enormous degree.
